Please find pics of my 3 year old boy Troy, please comment whether he need to gain more weight or he is just fine. Please note that I am not a breeder and Troy is my fist GSD as my family companion. Your suggestions are welcome. Thanks. SS

Ditto. Lean, but not skinny and sickly looking. Shiny and alert. Nice.

Nothing uglier than a fat shepherd, your dog looks great! Do not pack on any more weight unless it is lean muscle.

His weight is ok, if he were mine I'd drop a pound or two. I definitely would not let him gain any weight, he's good where he's at. Nice looking dog.

Handsome boy; I try to go by this rule of thumb: Put both hands on the dog starting at his shoulders; run your hands down his body and IF you can easily feel ribs right at the surface of his coat/skin then he should be at a good weight; also nice to be able to see the last 2 ribs. That would be a good weight for your dog. Best of luck with him, Nan

Troy, you dogs is beautiful and at a good weight, no worry about being to thin, he's at a good weight. I agree, he shouldn't not have any more weight on him.
