It's a coated black and red that someone trimmed the ears on. Beautiful pigment.

Santa already was here...

These are long stock coats, the color in the pedigree does state " black and tan"
Mostly, but not always showlines, called "black and red" in common language.

I'm hoping my possibly coated puppy will turn out like this...though of course he only has 1/2 showlines. His mother is a "black sable" if one exists (pet peeve of mine....they're DARK sables...no such thing as "black" sable...just a descriptive).

Susie, do you know what your boy looked like at 3 weeks?

Yeah, it´s mine, 7.5 years old now...
I corrected "sable" into "tan" - I hate this damned language problems !!!
In Germany there is no official term for "red" - the pedigrees always say "tan" - ( used terms: black/tan/sable)
sorry for this stupid mistake!

Jenny, he looked almost similar - he was the best dog I was able to find, when I was "shopping" for a new male.
I wasn´t sure about his coat length for almost 6 months, and now I do own the first coat of my life...
