Does m in this expression 4.33 m square km from a sentence like this - ON SEPTEMBER 9th, at the height of its summertime shrinkage, ice covered 4.33 m square km, or 1.67m square miles, of the Arctic Ocean... stay for a million?

Generally yes, - 'million' - as I understand it at least. Can't think what else
it would mean.
it would mean.

Thanks a lot. I am doing my homework for a course for translators I attend and I just wanted to make sure I got it right as I couldn´t find an article in English where it is written in a full word.I´m not a native speaker.

'Million' seems to fit the context, Cage. Even though it is smaller
than other Oceans, the Arctic Ocean still has over 14 million square
kilometres of area, much of which is covered in ice.
Good luck with the course.
