I have a GSD stud dog for sale on PDB and I got an inquiry from Amanda Wikert of Stoney Creek Farms .. when I looked at the web site with link below I saw some things that raised some red flags and wondered if anyone knew her or of her kennel in terms of reputation or quality.  I would like to sell my stud but I don't want to sell him out.

You saw some things that raised some red flags????????      What that they are members of USA and not GSDCA-WDA???????????????      Good grief, the red flags are all over your website....................................How did they not see those red flags, that would raise a huge red flag for me.

I have nothing for or against the breeder .. I just want to know that she will take care of my male (Fargo Mariko Bohemia) and that he won't live the remainder of his life in a concrete and wire cell eating Walmart dog food.  Talking on the phone doesn't tell you that and there have been some real low life breeders in Missouri who change their name and web site like a dirty shirt.  Maybe she is a saint .. I just wanted to hear if anyone knew her operation and how she treats her dogs because I know better than to believe what is on a web site or said over a cellphone.  I guess the fact that the normal crew on this forum haven't already trashed her and her operation is a glowing character reference so she must be alright.

The best thing you can do is visit her if you are worried or keep your dog.

Deliver the dog. Then you'll see for yourself. I agree with your caution, though if I were Amanda, the fact that you'd started this thread and talked about red flags would be a bit of a turn off as far as buying your dog. I think a nicer approach would be a simple "This woman inquired about a dog- does anyone have any references for her?"

I've gotten feedback from some folks who actually know something about the subject and I have made my decision.  Since most of you felt free to offer advice with no knowledge about the subject of the thread I will not share what I've learned and you can discuss it among yourselves.  I have drawn attention to her web site and given all of you experts a chance to praise her in glowing terms so I fail to see any harm done to her kennel or reputation.  The one idea that I never considered was loading up my dog and driving from NC to MO to visit .. sounds more like Craig's List and a great waste of time and money.

I agree with Blitzen,,,,

Please go visit the kennel, people can be anything over a phone or on the Internet,,Seeing with your own eyes is what your GSD deserves,,

I know nothing about Stoney Creek, but looking at their website...I really don't know what these red flags are that you saw?   However the insinuations that something is wrong with their kennel without providing any actual details...makes this thread quite off-putting, feels a little like a personal vendetta.

On the other hand, I did look up your website; if I was going to buy a dog/puppy and had to choose only between your's or their's based on websites only...then I would choose their's.  Navigating and reading through your website was a bit uncomfortable.

There is nothing craigslisty about taking a beloved dog to visit a potential home, if you want to be positive about where it's going and how it's going to live then that's what you do.
