Ok, i had never had this with any of my dogs that i had before...i had multiple dogs before and none displayed "tenderness" towards each other...
I had posted few pictures before on a thread called Tank Loves Bailey...well love affair is continuing...
I had seen dogs that are co dependent that will bark and whine when separated, this is not like that....they can be separated, one can go for a walk w/o the other one going crazy so no issue there....there is no separation anxiety....outsiders who see them together keep saying , awww they are in love....but i am on the fence because i dont think dogs "love" like people love...anyways...here are some pictures...oh, and they do disagree sometimes and squabble over a ball...
When I have Bailey inside (her bed is in a sun room where cat house is, she is great with cats they she plays with Oscar so she lays there by choice) Tanks bed is in a living room (he does not care for cats, just ignores them and cats hiss at him when they walk by...)...when they are in separately they eventually go to their beds...that is part of their quality time with us one dog a day gets to stay in the house for the evening and gets left overs, etc....
so yesterday i decided to let two in Bailey and Tank.....
Bailey on her bed in sun room...Gus is focused on a tail...

Gus got Tanks Tail....and Tank who could have moved to the living room stayed with Bailey....

here are some photos from last year...
and oh yeah when i first got Tank last August..Bailey and Tank did not get along, I had to separate at least 4 fights (no blood just pissing matches that looked and sounded worse than they were)..a month later they were match made in heaven.
here are his "i love you " looks...

Neither...probably. Seems normal, though I'm not witnessing it firsthand. Just bonded and most younger males do defer to an older female, ime anyway, in a house dog situation like yours. I sold 2 dogs to the same house (not at the same time) and it's the exact same way. Totally attached at the hip, but not in an insecure, nutcase, separation anxiety way. They're fine separated, too.

Thanks, Jen.
You got the attached at the hip part right..LOL...

Who knows what he is really thinking, but it sure looks like he is smitten with her :)

Doesn't have to be indoor dogs. I used to help with 'yard
dogs' many years ago for a haulage co. We had a male,
Titch, and then got a slightly older female, Mandy, and
they were just like this. Given the choice, they were always
together; and yeah Titch used to look at her with the same
soppy expression.

Last fall I had a foster, 11 year old Ruger, that I still feel bad adopting out because my Nikon was so taken with him. Nikon is a typical GSD, very aloof/neutral around non-family dogs and people. Other dogs don't really exist to him. He's very safe (I have fosters and Nikon does flyball, so, yeah a dozen small dogs yipping and running around in his face mean nothing to him). He's never been interested in really bonding or playing with other dogs as an adult. But when Ruger came home Nikon was like his BFF. Shared his bed, his spots on the couch, always wanted to play with him. Funny since normally if Nikon is annoyed by the presence of another dog it'll be another male GSD, but Ruger was much older and not intact. Ruger was adopted a few weeks after I pulled him of CL as a giveaway dog and had him vetted, and now he lives on a huge cattle ranch. I was surprised a dog his age and condition got adopted so quickly and was sort of planning on keeping him, but I couldn't say no to a home like that!

Beckett & Ansgar are like that. We had them at the kennel when my Mom was declining & when we came back the owners daughter said, "Do you know those two are in love?" Beckett is crazy for her, does go apeshit when she goes out with out him, & she plays it up, if he's crated she'll tease him something terrible if we don't step in. She bosses him around, he just sops it up. She is smitten with me, but will lean on Beckett if I'm not around. And the looks he gives her, it's pathetic! Honestly, he's a big stallion type male, full of fire & aloof, very nice...unless Ansgars out with him, then he's more like Sad Sack! jackie harris

One of the other gals I work with brings her dog to work as well. He is a 12 y/o lab/pointer mix, Einstein. Originally we were not going to let them meet, but they had different ideas, and one night he jumped out of the car while we were waiting to load, and next thing I know here comes Qira. I was expecting a fight to break out, knowing Einstein doesn't care for other dogs really, and Qira is not one to be "told off" by another dog either. But nope. She is like a lovestruck teenager when she's around him. She showers him in kisses, and races around like a lunatic, and he just eats it up. They get SO excited when they are together... it is really hilarious. That whole "puppy love" thing... I believe it now!
It is really funny when I tell her "time to go to work", and she gives me the sad look like "do we have to?", and then I'll say "Einstein's gonna be there", and she is suddenly bouncing at the door. LOL
Tank and Bailey are adorable together!

VKGSDs...oh wow....that is one awesome picture...love it...yeah i would have been kicking myself too...that is why i can't foster anything, i end up keeping them all....
Dawulf.....Einstein...(i will have to keep that name in mind for next dog!) you will have to take some pictures...I have got to see Qira love stuck face, on pictures she usually looks so fierce and serious, we have to see the puppy love face...LOL.
starrchar....yeah....he sure is...glad they are close in age and young (she is about 3.5, he is about 2.5), it would break my heart to see those two separated....
