Great to see a dog linebred on old Blue Scipio. What a great dog Blue was. Wish I had something to send to him for breeding right now... like a female with Blue in the 4th generation! Ha ha ha.
See this dog at http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/368497.html
I don't know who owns him but I'd be interested to know where they got him.

Dean Calderon imported him back in 2003, kept him for 9 months through the rabies titer and quarantine period to be sent to Guam. Brought back to the states a year or so ago, he is an excellent dog - very strong, excellent conformation, has a good civil side to him in the protection phase. Especially great for breeding to bitches who need improvement in the breed type and size. Beautiful natural stack just shortly after he arrived here in Oklahoma http://www.schutzhundsportdogsinc.com/DogSales/photos/BerryStack.jpg

Figures. Dean knew Blue. Al Burns imported him and several other truly great dogs with Preston Heller 'way back when. I'll never forget Blue "socializing" my old dog, Onyx, when Onyx was an obnoxious pup. While on a walk in the hills at Al's old place outside Saratoga, Onyx fastened himself to Blue's ruff and held fast. Not bothered, Blue just lifted his head a bit higher as not to drag the pup on the ground and carried him along that way till he released and walked more politely. How many mature stud dogs would have tolerated, let alone ignored, suck precocious behavior?
Its too bad Blue wasn't used at stud more in this country. He was a truly beautiful working dog, not real big, but as powerful as they come, and fantastic in all three phases of the work. Nick Heiligbusch (sp?) had a litter mate that looked almost just like Blue. Fortunately Nick was bred a lot after his high finish in the 97 BSP with Franz, so the bloodline is preserved to a greater extent than it might have been. His brother and sister were also bred quite a few times, but its been so long since Blue was alive that his line is fading and there aren't many linebred (4th, 5th gen) around anymore.
I wonder why the guy in Guam sent him back to the states? Possibly becuase there aren't many breeding candidates in Guam, I suspect. Did Dean ask him to send the dog back for breedings I wonder?

His owner simply moved back to the states. Guam has a very nice USCA Schutzhund club. Although not listed on his pedigree here, the dog is also V rated.
