Looking for a show/schutzhund male pup. West German lines. How do I check out a breeder overseas? Is it typical to send them the money and hope they send they the pup? Need Advice Please!!

Start by looking in your area, this way you can visit the kennel, meet the breeder and see the dogs in person. Ask for references, written health garantees, breeder's accomplishments... visit many places and ask many questions. Good luck!

Cop, Its wise when buying overseas to have a US kontact that has done business with people in Germany or other parts of europe before. They can recommend someone they have purchased from with good results. You will find that all will want the money sent before the dog/pup is shipped, and the shipping costs are the buyers responsibility, in addition to price of the dog.

Excellent answers by both, I would only add plan on spending some time on this... finding a reputable one will be finding one who plan on spending some time with you answering all of your questions.

Cop, Where are you and why do you feel it better to buy a dog sight unseen from overseas please? I have written on this topic a few times here and don't have time to go into it again. I DO have some excellent K9 prospects still available from my B and C litter (9 and 11 weeks) if you don't mind considering dogs bred in the good old USA. ;) Shelley Strohl 610-392-7197
