Hello all! These are for a 10 month old female German Shepherd. Other than poor positioning, how would you grade these?
THANK YOU!!!

They look good to me but there are a few dark areas that might be a concern.

I think they look pretty good. That is about all I can say at this stage and age, hopefully they will tighten up a little bit as she ages. Good luck Nan

Not scary... probably Fair or Good. The joints are still developing, but what's there looks OK.

I'm seeing good or maybe excellent hips here.

My concern would be that that the ball of the hip on the left might be losing it's round shape and the joint space may be widening. If I were considering buying this female as a breeding prospect, I'd err on the side of caution and have OFA or a vet radiologist take a look first.

Thanks everyone!! This dog would be purchased for potential breeding. However, we were told the dog can be jealous of other dogs. I asked to clarify, and she will bark if the owner is petting another dog or paying attention to it. Anyone have experience with jealous dogs?

Depnds what your personal criteria is. Jealous dog... I make mine jealous of me working with another dog at times to get the most from them. Just barking at someone else for being with another dog can be normal. It can also turn in to more and if you are concerned or don't have that much experience especially if you already have one female in the house, you may want to rethink this. As for the hips, I am not a breeder and I know fair would be passing, but I would get hips rated before buying because I felt generous in guessing fair. I agree the one hip concerns me. I personally will not buy from fair hipped dogs and you want this dog for breeding. they say fair is passing, but It is my personal prefferance that I would not breed nor buy from fair hips. Why do they have x rays and not a hip rating?
