Hi, I adopted Odin 4 months ago. I'm just curious to see what mix of breed he is. A lot of people tell me a German Shepherd mix but my vet thinks he's a Malinois/bull mastiff mix. She told me she knew someone who owned that kind of mix and Odin looks exactly like him. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Looks part mal to me. The general public usually calls a pure mali a GSD mix so it doesn't surprise me that a lot of people tell you he's a GSD mix.

Mal X Great Dane.....too light in bone and dry for mastiff, even though a Dane is technically a mastiff they are lighter in bone and more dry like this dog. No hound ears or color.
Beautiful dog.

When I got him at the shelter he was put down as a GSD Mix. Some people think he's a GSD with floppy ears. Haha. Thanks for the input and the compliments.

He could be GSD/Dane mix, cause if they put him down as that at the shelter than they may have some
inside info on him from the person that surrendered him....

GSD/Dane mix. That color pattern is dominant, and Danes come in that color, too, so while I'm no expert on dominant and recessive color patterns in other breeds, when you breed a Mal to a GSD, you get mostly Mal colored dogs, so that dog could easily be GSD and Dane, and simply have the Dane coloring. That coloration does not necessarily come from a Mal, and I see more GSD in the expression than Malinois. JMO.
