Renofan2

by Renofan2 on 14 January 2007 - 18:01

My fluffy friend looks different today Eyes not so bright Legs once strong and fast Won’t lift her from her plight Meals she used to gobble down I must feed her by my hand She used to be so strong Now she barely stands No ribbons won in confirmation Her fur disqualifies But in my heart a champion lives Just because she is mine She is my inspiration A little miracle The vets said she would not live long But she proved them wrong I treasure these additional years She fought so hard to give She stood by me in my darkest times And pulled me from the edge She stayed with me when all was lost And brought hope back to me She looks so sad when she has an accident Her embarrassment is clear I am not angry with her, Just so very scared I must ask her one more time To give her strength to me To let me know when it is time And to send her on her way For 14 years she has been with me The highlight of my life I can’t imagine what it will be like The day that she is gone But I will not let her suffer And promise to let her go My heart is breaking Her time is running out Please God look out for her She deserves the very best And thank you for sending Reno The best gift anyone could get

That is beautiful, and yes, may you be as strong as your lovely lady Shepherd was for you. You are doing the right thing, she was your best friend, and you are simply doing the humane thing. God Bless you, and may you both meet at the Rainbow Bridge when it's your time to join her!

This makes me cry for all of them who have gone to Rainbow Bridge.
