Tattoo help - Page 1

I'm trying to help a friend who pulled a Black female GSD out of a high kill shelther here in NC trace this girl. The tattoo is only 4 numbers... 9340. She was chipped, but the chip never registered. The girl was pulled from Rowan Co NC shelter (I believe.. waiting on a message back)

Thank you in advance for any info you may have or a point in the right direction.

Are you sure that the tatoo is only 4 numbers? Isn´t there a 5th number that´s difficult to see? If yes,the dog may be from Czech Republic or Slovakia,all the dogs now have 5 number tatoo here.

I will have to ask her. She said the poor girl has an absolutely raging ear infection and those numbers were missed in the beginning.

Well, she knows Czech commands and looks like a 5th digit, but can't make it out.

Will magnifying glass help?  I also use sometimes for x-rays on hips/elbows;  sometimes bring up more clear evidence.  JAT.  Nan

How old is she?It may help.I checked Slovak database /SUCHNO/ -   http://www.suchno.sk/databaza.html  and there is no female that fits. I found only this female http://www.suchno.sk/databaza/fany-zagato-42508.html , her tattoo is 59340 but she is black and tan ,not solid black. So I suppose your friend´s female is from Czech Republic.
 I will try to find out if there´s Czech database for GSDs or ask some friends in Czech Republic to help.
BTW,you say she has a microchip - can you send me the number, she may be registered in Czech Republic.
