X-rays done for OFA, just looking at what grade this might come in as. Dog is 3 1/2 years old.

I bet good; one knee not rotated quite as much as the other. If it were, I think it would look just as perfect as the other. Very, very nice. Thumbs Up

Unfortunately, you're hard-pressed to get an exc. these days. This dog's half sister had equal hips; vet (who used to be on board of OFA and is almost always right in his guesses) said excellent for sure...nope. Good. Kind of irritating that there's so much variance between goods- there are "barely goods" and "way better than goods" and there seems to be little differentiation as of late. IMO, hips like this and the sister's set ought to be distinguished, especially since there isn't a zw-like system here in the US.

With a zw, these would factor in favorably and people would get a good idea of a better-than-average production status. To get the same "big picture" idea here, one has to scour OFA's database looking at individual ratings. It would be kind of nice if the excellents got rated excellent. I did hear (wish I could remember where) that in general, OFA is tightening the parameters. Not sure what they think that will accomplish, since obviously, even with xraying stock, dysplasia still occurs. It's more complicated than that.

Congrats on the hips! If he doesn't rate as you're hoping, I'd be happy to buy him. Teeth Smile
