This is a nice young Mali I've been training for a few weeks and he's going back home to his owner tomorrow, I'm gonna be sad!
He's coming back in a couple of weeks for some more training so its not all bad.
First time I've ever trained a Mali. Had lots of fun :)

awesome dog, awesome training....i will never understand why anybody would be happy with the achievements of a dog they paid somebody else to train for them???

by Hired Dog on 22 August 2013 - 21:08
Because they are not trainers and are smart enough to know it?

then why bother??? what is the point? like the look?
fashion accessory?
fashion accessory?

Hmm, they want a trained dog? They have the money but not the time to devote to serious training? The point is that 95% of people are NOT trainers and they should not be either. They can handle a trained dog if they are taught how, but, again, they are smart enough to know what they "dont" know. Most people buy their dogs and have them trained by a pro so they can enjoy a nice dog instead of pretending they themselves trained it and screw it up...make sense?

And a lot of people are worse and think they are trainers and f--k the dog up....least this dog benefits from getting good training foundation. It's all about what's best for dog, IMO.

ok different strokes i guess, i would certainly think less of the made dog/trainer combo than the lesser DIY combo, if that makes sense. but hey i like to catch, kill and smoke my own meat just because i like to not because it is better.
each to his own.
each to his own.

We don't normally do IPO residential training this was a special one off for a friend who was going on holiday anyway and would rather have the dog get some good basic foundation training rather than go in a boarding kennel.
