Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to put on AKC Foreign Dog Registration Application on the line that syas Dog's Registry? My dog is from Hungary and Im not sure if I put FCI or Magyarorszagi Nemet Juhaszkutya Klub (MNJK). Can someon please help? Also do I send them the actual export pedigree or a copy of it? If I do send them the export pedigree will I get it back? Thanks so much

Gimme10mins: I just registered my female purchased from Belgium. I put the name that was around the seal as my Dog's registry. I actually called AKC to make sure I was putting the right name. The were very helpful and told me on the phone to send the original export pedigree. AKC did return it to me a few weeks after I received her AKC papers. I did however keep a copy before I mailed the original just in case it was lost. Hope this helps.

it wants you to put MNJK on that line

P.S. keep a NOTORIZED copy of the papers, just in case

Do not send in the original export pedigree, make a copy and send in the copy. I have a friend who sent in the original export pedigree and it got lost in the mail or by the AKC and he had to purchase another export pedigree to get his dog registered with the AKC. His dog was also from the MNJK and he put that as his dogs registry when he did finally get his dog registered. I hope this helps. Mysti

actually, if it was me I would send them the notorized copy and keep the original as you may never see it again, I have heard horror stories about lost papers with the AKC. Sorry it took 3 tries to say this. lol

AKC does not require you to send in the original papers...They just want a copy...I would never send the original paperwork unless you absolutely need to... Gimme10mins:You put down the MNJK...Magyarorszagi Nemet Juhaszhutyz Klub...But they will probably want an Export Pedigree...which you can get from either the MNJK or from the person that you got the dog from...The Hungarian Kennel Club... If I can help you more feel free to e-mail me... ~Bob~

send a copy not the original...make copies of ur check, the app., and every thing u send incase they ask questions later, or they get lost. Akc is famous for losing things......

I registered my dog also from Hungary and I just made a copy of the MEOE-FCI papers that came to me and everything was just fine and that is what I put on the foreign registration MEOE-FCI. It tells you this in the upper left corner of the papers. MEOE-FCI Certificate of Origin for dogs. Everything went very smooth and was back to me in less then six weeks from the time that I mailed them out.

I recently registered my girl who came from Belgium. I sent in colored photocopies of the Belgium Registration and Pedigree. Received my AKC registration last week. Marsha Seck
