Dawulf

by Dawulf on 15 August 2013 - 03:08

A friend of ours has asked me to take some pictures for them again come fall. Last year I did some for them in the springtime, and they turned out nice, but I'm looking for some good, creative ideas for this time. Looking on the internet, you see plenty of good couple ones, but very few of them have their dogs in there with them, and if they ARE in there they are big dogs. Our friends have two dachshunds that are about the size of my foot. Not exactly easy to see dachshunds galloping through a field of wildflowers or something, LOL. Of course they can carry the dogs, but meh.... boring!

Anyway, I know there are some creative minds on here, was just wondering if any of them felt like helping me brainstorm. Thanks!

Could you get the dachsies standing on something
so's they are about waist-high to the couple ?  Like
use a flat bit of a car, or something ?
[I'm no photographer, it's just your plea made me think !]

And/or, will the dogs curl up in a pretty basket, for a
stand-alone shot ?

Fall, doxies running through a wood, crashing over the fallen leaves as they hurtle toward their people who are crouched [or seated on a rock], shot from in front of the owners, behind the owners and from a three-quarter side view to get everything within the frame.

Doxies and owners strolling through a pumpkin patch, dogs on the hunt for critters among the gourds?

How about on an arched foot bridge with the couple at the far end of the bridge, several paces behind the dogs (at the crest of the bridge)-  this would put the dogs higher in the view and you could still see the couple.??

Or maybe there is an old wagon somewhere around you.  You could have the dogs in the wagon - stepping up onto the edge and the couple standing near it.

Or dogs on a retaining wall with the couple in front

Or the dogs on the stairs/ looking through the bars of the balusters of a neat old staircase

or, hanging their heads out of a cool old car somehow

Perhaps you can ask your clients for some "props" that mean something to them? Lots of "families" like the casual attire look alike photo, so if they are baseball fans, maybe have them all wear a similar fan item, maybe they all have different favorite teams? The "hotdog's" can be accommodated and co-ordinated in some way. Give them a each a bowl, one of peanuts and the other cracker jacks!

Baseball backdrop fake or real.
Two big fake hot dog bun pillows (Opens like a hot dog bun)
Make a thing for the dogs to wear that looks like mustard and onions on there back.
Stick the dogs in the hot dog pillows one with each person and there ya go.

Weiner Dog Photo!
