Hi All,
I'm looking for solutions to quiet my noisy car crate.
I thought about using either duct tape or electrical tape on the latch handle and at the corners.....but before I get that sticky tape residue everywhere.....I wanted to hear if anyone else has a better idea.

Bungee cords

My car crate is secured with an arrangement of bungee cords
and a rear seat belt, and therefore the body of the cage is silent;
but I know what you mean about the latch rattling !
I'm afraid the only remedy I've ever come up with is the duct
tape. But cheer up - it lasts for ages, and it WORKS.

I use a small length of the coated electrical wire between the bolt and the ?? can't think of the name for the other part
but it works well.

An alternative to duct tape would be black gaffers tape which leaves no residue.

I have 3 crates in my car and all of the doors rattled so I got a piece of Styrofoam pipe wrap at Home Depot and cut it into small sections and put a piece between the door and the crate and voila, no noise. Works like a charm.

Yes, the foam works very well that is what I do as well. If needed you can zip tie it in place or tape it. I also put the crates on a rubber mat in the car. I hate "rattling" on long trips.

Plastic airline crates tend to not rattle very much and are safer than metal crates for your dog in an accident. They do make velcro strips that have hooks on 1 side and loops on the other. Good for snugging down loose corners without any sticky stuff.
