Sorry if this is re-hashing a previously discussed topic. I (stupidly) purchased an Innotek collar about a year ago. After they replaced the worthless first one, the second worked pretty well until it needed recharged. To this day I've never been able to get it to come back on. Recharged, change batteries, the whole nine yards. Thought it might even have been the recharging unit? Regardless... I'm looking for another...one that works dependably would be really nice. Price is a huge factor but I guess you get what you pay for (obviously with Innotek), but 'reasonably priced' is what I'm shooting for. So Tritronics? Dogtra? I've heard good and bad about both. I've got a Tritronics no-bark collar that has lasted for 3+ years now. It's served me well with frequent use and after having been dropped, stepped on, chewed on, rained on, etc., but I've never used one of their other training collars. Thanks in advance :)

I have a Dogtra. I like the size and dial control. Several in my club have Tri-tronics and they seem to be reliable and well liked...

Mine is a few years old now. Tri-tronics. I hear more and more people are going to Dogtra as they are suppossed to be just as good but cheaper. I hope mine lasts a few more years until I can see if the Dogtra people are still happy with their purchase before I go that route.

I've owned all three. Tri-tronics is by far the best. Very reliable and it can take a beating. I find the Dogtra's to be very inconsistent with the stims even after being fully charged.

Tri-tronics....never could get the Dogtra to work right...

I have a Dogtra and an older Tri-tronics I've used for years. The Tri-tronics is far superior to the Dogtra, more reliable, stronger, and consistent. I would not even consider getting another Dogtra, but will soon buy a new model Tri-tronics for the advanced features.

Sounds like what club members say here as well. I'll pay more for the tri-tronics again. Never had an issue with it and just got a new battery and she's as good as new. Now hopefully it will last another 4 years.

Well that's all I needed! Thanks everyone, I'll be telling my husband to skip the chocolate hearts and flowers, an e-collar would be a great gift, lol :)

I have had all 3 also. I started out with a Tri-Tronics and loved it. But it went down after about 5 years. I had to scramble to get a new one and the stores that I went to only had Innotec. What a mistake!! Even on it's highest level my dog went right through it!! Junk! I then tried one club memeber's Dogtra and loved it. The size is very small and the dial is easily adjusted in an instant and it is very strong. Debby
