I'm curious as to what tests stud owners do on their males prior to breeding. I know that many stud owners require brucellosis and often vaginal cultures of the female and sometimes more extensive cultures but I don't think that many studs are tested routinely for anything except brucellosis. I would appreciate any comments stud owners might have.

In the UK we often check males for Haemophilia A.
This is not so much a "pre mating" thing as a general
health test; but I would not want to use a dog at stud
that had not been blood-tested for Haemo.

DM might be a good idea so as to not double up on carriers or at risks. Hips, elbows, at the least a cardiac exam done by a veterinary cardiologist.
