Dear PDB friends,
Our fellow poster, Abbynormal, is going through a devastating and heartbreaking time. She had two beautiful German Shepherds and has lost them both within the last two and a half months. Her male died suddenly in May and she had to say goodbye to her female yesterday.    Losing her boy was a terribly traumatic event. He showed signs he was having abdominal pain and was brought to the vet. Within a 18 hour period he was taken to the regular vet once and the ER vet twice. The vets ran various tests, but weren't able to diagnose him, so at her 2nd visit to the ER vet at 2am, she was referred to a veterinary office that was an hour and a half away that had a CT scanner and ultrasound. They went immediately, but her beloved boy died on the way there. It was a terrible shock and the entire event has devastated her. Her boy was a fairly young dog and an absolutely awesome dog. She did everything she could to save her boy...   Her "older"  female was feeling badly this week and was taken to the vet. She diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma of the liver, spleen and possibly other organs. She had to say goodbye to her darling girl yesterday.    Abbynormal is feeling so lost, empty and completely devastated. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I know most of you here can relate to the horrible pain she is in. Her dogs were woven into the fabric of her life and part of her being. She loved her dogs with all her heart and gave them the best care any dog could have. She has a tremendous hole in her heart, in her life and in her home right now.  I know there is nothing that can take her pain away, but maybe words of sympathy, support, understanding or encouragement will help a little.

Thank you,
Char

Char, I was going to email Abby and ask if she was ok & why she hasn't
been on here for a few weeks, but hadn't got around to it yet.  Thank you
for telling us, I will send her a message right now.  That is truly horrible
news.
Linda.

Abbynormal  I am so sorry to hear of your devastating loss.  I cannot even imagine losing two in such a short time frame.  Just a few weeks ago I lost my Falon suddenly to histiocarcoma only 1.5 years after I lost my Libby.  May the memories of your beautiful German Shepherds bring you comfort soon.  Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way.

Thank you.

I want to add that Abby was there for Shelby and I  every step of the way as we the fought DM monster. She was always encouraging me and cheering us on. She was incredibly supportive and always checking in to see were things were going. She is such a kind and compassionate person and a true animal lover to the core of her being. It kills me to know she is going through this. I just can't imagine what she is going through. Her dogs were everything to her...

I had already sent Abby my condolences as I can empathise totally with her. I lost my two beautiful shepherds within 4 weeks of one another, my male from  Hemangiosarcoma of the spleen/kidneys and on the day I lost my bitch from a grossly enlarged heart and fluid in the lungs, I also had my 19 year old Border Terrier cross PTS. I thought my world had ended [well it did for a short while].

Things will be bleak Abby but eventually time will heal xx
