Hello, this is my long coat German showline/working line male. He's 4 years old. I know long coats are hard to critique because of all the fur, but please tell me what you think. I know he has his flaws so be as "harsh" as you like. He's pretty to look at but I know he'd never make it anywhere conformation-wise. I'd like to know his good and bad points though.
Thanks and any comments will be appreciated!

BTW: That fluff in the middle of his back has always thrown off his topline, but just know it's a cowlick because it never, ever lays flat!

You said it, critiquing a long coat is tricky, one needs to feel the bones to make sure of lengths and angles. However here's my try:

A black/tan male of medium size and strength. Good proportions and balanced. Head looks to have a dome but that could be due to the farrow. Good topline, good withers, good croup, good tail and tailset. Nice thigh, good hind angulation and good hocks, also very good feet. Good underline, stands straight on fore legs, steep front upper arm, shoulder lay looks okay. Very good pasterns and tight feet. Allover a nice looking male, I see no big flaws, he looks much better than average GSD

Thanks Ibrahim. To be honest he's always been a bit gawky and it's hard to get a good stack. Love your critique and you made some great points!

Any input on that is welcome as well. Neither of his parents have working or show titles, but that doesn't really bother me. He does his job well as is.
