I hate it when people pull this shit on dog boards. If you look back, there was a thread about Grafental lines. Low and behold a day or two later, there is an advertisement with no websight advertising Grafental line puppies for a very low price. Now there is some yahoo who advertises with the hook of "Get A Real Dog" This is the second time I have seen someone use this recently. Well I have no affiliation with any of these people. It irritates me when people who have nothing to contribute, just try and sell puppies. I wouldn't buy a pup from someone who does that.

Get A Real Dog- You did not get the ball rolling on this one, the buzz phrase, catch phrase or slogan "get a real dog" is not your invention. T-shirts in the mid 80's were sold at dog shows with different breed pictures and the slogan "get a real dog". In the 60's and 70's a dog breeder in San Antonio Texas used the slogan in his advertisements for his dogs in national magazines. Amazon.com even has "get a real dog", "get a newfoundland" sweatshirts and "get a real dog", "get a welsh corgi" totebags. eBay.com has "get a real dog" "get an american fox hound" decals. If you do an Internet search, there are web pages and Internet advertisements with the same slogan, before you copped it, claimed it as yours and become a member of this message board on December 12, 2006. I have even used it in advertisements since the mid 70's. I may even use it again. After all, anyone can use it freely. So, "get a real dog", it is "Irritating" that you are upset that "Now there is some yahoo who advertises with the hook of "Get A Real Dog" This is the second time I have seen someone use this recently. Well I have no affiliation with any of these people." When this slogan has been in use for at least 40 years and is used in magazines, newspapers, web sites, message boards and so on all the time. Did you really think you were being clever by using a known slogan as a handle? Now you want to block people from using a slogan that was around, probably before you were born. I guess by your logic, that means nobody can say "ask me about my wiener" anywhere either. Even though there are "ask me about my weiner" paraphernalia for sale all over the Internet or that it is a quote from the movie Accepted, Sherman Schrader played by actor Jonah Hill said "ask me about my weiner" in this movie. Maybe because I used it first here, I should be irritated too whenever someone uses it anywhere in the world, even though I did not invent it, just like you did not invent "get a real dog".

I'm sorry you feel that post was about my ego. But I guess you missed the example of the ad for Grafental lines that was so convienently times with the Grafental thread. I have been in the dog world and experienced first hand, the shady deals, the sales people, and opportunists that troll these dog boards. There are a great many people who use these dog boards to promote themselves and sell dogs. I just believe if you do, then participate in some threads and try to help people learn. If not, to me your just an opportunist that is not in it for the right reasons. I don't do this to boost my ego or sell dogs. My last post was in hopes that people would become aware of a known behavior. Maybe some K9 handler, trainer, or someone who knows a K9 handler see it. Maybe they will test it and train for it and they don't find themselves in a very bad position some night on the side of the road. Maybe it was just a coincidence that after a week-long thread that probably hundreds of people were watching (10x's as many people read these boards then post)talking about temperments and training for real world bite training, someone advertises a litter of puppies telling people to "get a real dog". I don't think so and wanted it clear I was not affiliated with this person. I'm sorry my post offended you so much.
