Would like to hear recommendations on nice leather leash, heavy duty , for my Mal. I currently have a nice leather leash from the Ray Allen company. Looking for something strong and durable as I need it for my hound mix as well. She can be very energetic when she sees a squirrel! :-) Thank you in advance!

Have you ever tried the "grip it" lines that Ray Allen sells? I got some about 10 years a go and they are the best leashes I own. I can get them wet, drag them through anything, nothing sticks on them, especially those sand burs and I use them for bite work as well as OB.
I love leather, but, the humidity and such can destroy it if you are not on top of it constantly in this weather.

I really like the soft premium leather leash from dogsportgear. I have two of them in different lengths and the last for a long time. http://www.dogsportgear.com/Soft-Premium-Leather-Leash_p_209.html

I have their braided patrol leashes and would definitely recommend them! They are very strong and durable, but the leather is also very soft for your hands. Best leash we've ever had.

Leerburg sells good strong leashes...have used a few. They are however not very soft. Hans at alpinek9 also sells, have not used them though.

Weaver makes good quality leather leashes. I bought mine years ago at a horse tack store as they also make saddles and bridles.
