Attention to South Florida Police Department Schutzhund handlers and SAR units - Page 1

I belong on a German Shepherd Rescue page on Facebook when I couldn't stop looking at this gorgeous young dark sable (her photo looks to be of a Czech bloodlines) female between 2 to 3 years of age. She goes by the name Ginger.

Base on the description she has high drives. Her previous foster care indicate that shes gets "aggressive"  with her 5 year old when playing ball... this doesn't mean anything but the fact that the dog has a lot of ball drives.

She might be a potential candidate for Schutzhund, SAR or Police work.

Shes currently at Bravo Animal Hospital in S Miami.

Are you willing to sign a statement to what you consider to be a "fact" that this dog wont hurt a child or are you just willing to say anything to get this dog out? How do you KNOW if what the previous owner described as aggression was NOT aggression? Are the people who keep these dogs uneducated as to what constitutes aggression? Have you personally seen and tested this dog?
While the dog "may" have the drives needed for work, be it as a SAR or IPO, it is very irresponsible to state that what has been described as aggression towards a child is simply drive. 
 

Yes, this is also a good point to consider about aggression for the GSD. No doubt this has a good temperament and also well-trained as a protection dog.
