Does anybody know the maximum breeding age for a bitch that is allowed by SV? Thank you ALL in advance!

there is no maximum age in Germany, just minimum

unless they had change it, but the max age was 9 years for females and 9 for males but i heard they changed the males to 10 now. its been a few years since i looked at the rules.

I heard somewhere that SV has limited the number of puppies a female can have before having a mandatory rest period.

I can't speak for everyone and I have yet to breed a litter but I would think back to back and then give a heat cycle or two off. I don't know that I would want to breed a 9-10 yo female unless she was some super star on a world level

Here is the answer: If the bitch fulfills her breeding qualifications such as IPO title, AD, hip and elbow certification as well as the breed survey, the minimum age is 20 months. The maximum age is 10 years. See: SV Zuchtordnung 2012, paragraph 4.2.1. "Verwendung der Zuchttiere"
