Hi there,
I would like you to critique my dog.
The stance picture is not a professional one but should give a good idea about the dog structure I hope.
He is 18 months old, 73 pounds, long stock hair.
Your comments and critique are welcomed.

It is difficult for me to make out lines and angles of a coated GSD,but I will do my best
Black/tan GSD male of good type, medium size and medium strong, correct proportions; front arm length to height at withers & height at withers to body length. Flat and short withers, good short back, short loin, short croup & slightly steep, good tail and tailset. Very good hind angulation, good hocks and very good tight feet. Good underline, Good clean front, good forechest development, good front angulation and good shoulder lay.Good pasterns but look slightly short and slightly steep. I admit it is difficult indeed to critique a longie, I like this guy but find his croup really short.Nice pigment and nice expression allover.

P ump ???
(Waves to Ibrahim).
If you wanted to bump this so more of us can join in, here's one from me:
Seofred - I like the overall structure and type of your dog; this exemplifies
for me the fact that long-coats can often be a really good shape and balance
under all that hair !
At 18 mths he is pretty much 'finished' as to what he will look like, though as
an adult he may yet fill out a little, and get a more 'mature' look about him.
He is a good weight, but you do not say how tall he is (sorry if you have
mentioned this somewhere else & I don't remember). That makes it a trifle
tricky to suggest that he is correct size, and whether he is nicely 'medium'
or not, and there are the usual problems with trying to critique from one
photograph as so many important things - gait, temperament, dentition etc -
get left out. But like Ibrahim, I see medium strength & bone; good under and
over lines, and good angulation. His pasterns look as though they might be
slightly firmer, the fact that the feet are hairy makes them look longer than
they should & this maybe tricks the eye somewhat. I see the croup as ok.
(Bearing in mind how deep the coat looks around that point !
) Hocks
possibly a little short. Pigment looks good [but again, can't see the feet/nails for
all that hair]. Good head & expression, though the coat conveys a slightly 'apple
headed' look. Length & angle of neck correct.

It is always good to see others comments especially coming from someone like Hunmutter with first hand experience and a sharp eye on various details, I never was at ease making out angles and lines of a coated GSD, it isn't an easy job.

Hello again,
Thank you both for posting your comments.
As for his height, I do not have proper tools to measure it. However with the regular measuring tape on a flat surface he was measuring somewhere between 63 to 64 cm. (24.5"- 25")
As for his nails, they are black, black, like really black :)
My goal is to get him to 78 pounds, which I personally think would be an "ideal" weight for him.
Hundmutter could you please explain to me your comment "though the coat conveys a slightly 'apple headed' look" further as I have difficulties understanding what you are trying to say :)
Thanks again.
P.S. Person standing in back of the picture is me - 250 pounds , 6.2 ft - it might get you some idea about his size too.
