In your opinion who do you think the greatest German Shepherd to ever live an why? Working or Show. What dog do you think represents the breed the best to you?

by Gustav on 04 January 2007 - 01:01

Bernd v Lierberg!!!!

by Gustav on 04 January 2007 - 02:01

I forgot the why; 1)VA 3 in conformation at the biggest GS specialty show in the world,(BTW his brother was VA1) 2)Had working temperament that would stand the test of any era 3)Produced an incredible amount of dogs with this same temperament and good conformation Whenever you see his name in a pedigree you ALWAYS feel good whether it is show or working lines or both. That works for me ...JMO

Gotta go with Bernd. He had the most profound postive influence on the breed overall I believe.

I have always loved this dog... why, he is to me what a GSD should look like and his accomplishments speak for themself. Volker vom Zollgrenzschutz Haus http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/260.html

I personally love V-Chuligan z Pohranicni Straze, I think he is INCREDIBLE looking, and coming from a top Czech kennel, has incredible working ability! Do I think he is the Greatest? Probably not, but he is one of my very favorites! I am so proud to own a 12 week old GrandDaughter of his! Here is a link to his Pedigree: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/417558.html Here's the link to his Granddaughter's Pedigree: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/479294.html Okay, thought I'd add my 2 cents.

UMSA BUNGALOW has to be in here somewhere although Bernd is a good choice as well.

I'd also like to have owned Robbie Glockeneck
