Pictures will not paste in from Photebucket . Any clues?

by GSD Lineage on 02 June 2013 - 20:06
Why don't you upload them here?
I am very stumped Fawn... I was able to do it both ways. I think that you used the chat code instead of the forum code.

There we go. I notice this is in the wrong place. Can you move this to "main"?

Aww...the kitty is hugging her....how cute

by fawndallas on 02 June 2013 - 21:06
Lol, it is cute with Rosé; all the cats love on her. The problem is that they try the same thing with the pups and it never ends well for the cat.

I wish I knew why some dogs love cats and others ( like mine ) hate them. Is it exposure to them as puppies? I knew I should have taken Maya to the barn when she was a baby but I was so afraid one of the horses would stomp on her.

No, JMO but I don't think its dependent on exposure when
young (although that could help of course). Whatever it is,
its way more complicated than that. My experience is of
a GSD bitch who had never been around cats [apart from the
odd glimpse of one perhaps], who came from a female line
of mother and grandmother who were both inveterate cat-chasers.
She came to live with me at 3.5 years old, and settled in with
my by then elderly cat within a fortnight. I won't say it was love,
but they certainly tolerated each other well for the next 3 or 4
years until the cat died. She never did show as much interest
in chasing cats outside the home as her mum & granny had,
so maybe she inherited different temperament genes from her
dad's side ? But ... woe betide foxes and rabbits, which she
would chase with a vengeance !

love that pic one of the best ever
a lot of working dogs live with cats are stil not aggressive but will still chase them
some dogs are pure aggressive they go silent do the stare and just attack, strange thing is the dogs that i have meant that out right attack and kill cats in a silent way no warning are always byb rescue kiind. But i know that german sheps of all kinds can be cat killers and cat lovers and cat tolerators. Part of it is who the dog is, part of it is training. Raising them with cats might help but one of my past dogs even raised with them was still never to be trusted. But my current dog never lived with any tiil one is fine with them. Shes safer with cats than a strange dog.
