Hi there, I have a now 5 month old GSD puppy who has promising conformation and I'm looking to enter him into the Junior Puppy class at our regional show. The issue is, after looking over the UScA website I don't see where it tells you exactly what will happen in this class. I'm hoping someone here can tell me what to expect. I don't know if I'll be running around the ring, if so how much, how many times will the Judge want to examine my puppy, ect. Just information such as that. Thanks :)

Typically, the dogs will enter the ring and id is verified, teeth are checked and testicles. The judge will check the dogs coming and going. At this age he may only gait them around a few times. Puppy ratings don't mean much. Puppy showing is more fore experience and to have fun than anything else.
You should get a handler so you can double handle your puppy. Practice touching and stacking your puppy. Ideally, it would be good if others could do this as well so the puppy gets used to being touched and positioned.
Where and when is the show?
Good luck.

Thank you very much :) I have been able to find some videos on YouTube that were somewhat helpful. The show is the Pacific NW Regional in Rochester, Wa. My puppy is working lines but had above average conformation, and I want to gain experience for his Kkl later.

Canine Training Systems has a 4 dvd set that goes over the whole SV style of showing.

You can find some videos on YouTube that show you SV/USCA style conformation shows. If you do a search for them, that will give you a bit of an idea of what to expect!
Good luck!
