Ohio is having an exceptionally warm Winter, which I have know problem with, but the fleas are really bad all of a sudden. My dogs seem to never have a flea problem till now. Anybody else having this problem??? What works the best to get rid of them?

1doggie2, Tried it and it is not working! I bathed all of them in flea soap and used the Advantage and they still have fleas. Never had them before..

Spray your home, yard and especially dog sleeping areas. Use advantage or something like it and that should knock them out in a few days.

I use k9 advantix but if that isn't working try a different chemical, fleas might be resistant. Probably gonna need to fume the house if it's that bad. Frontline is different.

Are you sure that you have problem with fleas? Just kidding. Maybe you make mistake if you put Advantage too soon after bathing your dog. Maybe your dose for dog is too small for him. I can recommend the best all round product from Bayer - Advocate. One part of formula is similar to Advantix (Advantage) and it kills flea s and flea larvae but other part give him possibilities to prevents heart worm, controls intestinal worms and intestinal worm larva, prevents roundworm and hookworm, controls narcotic mange and controls lice. Give the dog little bit higher dose and repeat after 28 days. And as 4pack said before you must spray everywhere where your dog dwelt: your home(carpets), yard and especially dog sleeping areas.

Brittany

Use frontline Plus..I've been using this product for the longest time and never had a flea problem. I live in South florida... and it can be hot at times. even during the winter. I strongly recommend it to control both fleas and ticks.

Brittany is right.Frontline plus is the absolute best.

Sometimes it gets bad here too and I can't take my dogs to the park without them being reinfested. Do your property and home, and the dogs. Try to keep them close for awhile until the fleas die off. After a freeze possibly. I have my grounds done monthly, dogs in the warm months and home if I see a flea, maybe twice a year.

I have excellent experience with Frontline, too - but Advocate is revolution. And no third product in that game.
