I don't appreciate being called an idiot, you know who you are. First of all you don't know whole story, thought she was 2 at first anyway then found out she was 18 months. How many of you have numerous dogs that just sit in kennels and only come out to work or breed? At least I don't do that just to make money. I had a question and all I wanted were knowledgeable peoples input. Don't they say it's good to ask questions, that's how you learn!!!! Who's the idiot????
Nobody should be called names, even if the term happens to fit (and I'm not saying that it does, zmeli, just making a general comment). It's just plain rude.
People come here for help. Comments can and should be made. Zmeli, remember that by posting your female is under age for breeding, you are posting in a place where most people try to adhere to the German standard, and seeing others not trying to do so is often like a slap in the face to the breed.
Not everyone shares the sentiment, nor the name-calling. Most people on here are happy to share their knowledge.
My personal suggestion would be the same of some of the others. I would not breed her until she is of age, and has some type of title and official hip certification, and she should be held to ensure the well-being of both dogs, especially since she is a maiden bitch.
If it's already been done, there's no point in beating a dead horse. :)
If you need any other help, please feel free to email me privately, and I would be happy to help however I can.
Good luck!
the only stupid question is the one not asked.
You also said the hips were not xrayed, didn't you?
THIS FEMALE IS NOT MINE, I TOLD YOU GUYS THAT AT FIRST I THOUGHT SHE WAS 2, THEN FOUND OUT SHE WAS 18 MONTHS, (MY MISTAKE) Lesson learned, trust me.
Zmeli: Dont feel bad any longer, when I first got on this site I was ridiculed everytime I typed two words and called names too so just pic the people u want to reply to as there are a lot of great people here and they have no idea who some of us new people really are and that some of us really do know and stand for the German standard and did not fall of the turnip truck yesterday and can spell and type if we have time to do so........U know what the Good Book says about calling a person an "idiot".....
zmeli,
Yes, it is amazing the lies people will tell you so that they can make a buck. Believe me, I've heard it all!
Lesson learned. Be glad you're not out any cash out of pocket! That's even nastier!
If you have any questions in the future, please feel free to email me privately. I'm always happy to help if I can. vomfelsenhof@aol.com
Is this your first time to stud your male out? Nothing wrong with learning your lesson this way, now you know not to make this mistake again. If no one made mistakes how would we all learn. I've made mistakes as I was learning to. Just take a deep breath and deal with it now.
Best of Luck
zmeli, You might not be an idiot (well maybe, just a little) but you sure lack of common sense.
you say:
"I TOLD YOU GUYS THAT AT FIRST I THOUGHT SHE WAS 2, THEN FOUND OUT SHE WAS 18 MONTHS, (MY MISTAKE)"
ROFLMAO I sure like to see you on the Judge Judy show.. I cant even imagine what would come out of her mouth (I'm sure she'll call you an idiot) after you made such pathetic statement like that.
Your statement also sounds like somebody being guilty of statutory rape.. "Oh but Judge! I thought she was 20!" and LOCK LOCK... in prison with all of the tough guys surrounding you and wanting to toss your salad.
you get no sympathy from me... You asked for it. This board is surrounded by professional dog trainers and reputable breeders who actually cares for the future of this breed. It is people like you who ruins it just to make a buck. If you really cared... you would of asked theses questions before you allowed your dog to mate with a 18 month old bitch with no proven record of being breedable.
" If you really cared... you would of asked theses questions before you allowed your dog to mate with a 18 month old bitch with no proven record of being breedable."
Most 18 month old females are capable of being bred. But yes, these questions should have been asked long before. But when a person is in it for the money and knows so little one does things first, hopes it works, comes to others more knowledgeable for help when things get screwed up and does it anyway. Unfortunately, along with a host of reputable and knowledgeable people on this board, there are many people who are irresponsible and breeding two dogs for all the wrong reasons. They know nothing about the breed, and are lazy and want to make a quick buck.
A reputable breeder knows everything about the two dogs they are mating, has a specific and well defined goal in breeding a given litter, knows and has taken every reasonable precaution to be sure the litter produced will, in fact, be healthy and is confident that good and forever homes can be found for the pups produced.
Just another puppy mill in the making......
