I was just told that specific types of dog food cause swelling in the joints (gout) -
Has any person out there heard of that?

Oh god. Its probably that Ol' Yeller crap that they sell at Kroger. I think Disney actually makes it.

No this definitely was "Ol' Yeller" for 9.95 a 40 lb bag. Had Ol' Yeller on the cover and all with a little Disney logo.

The sad thing is, is that I actually saw someone going through the store with this bag in the cart. I felt so bad, got that little sick feeling in my stomach and thought about that poor little dog at the house, as we say in the military, "eating to live'. Get hungry enough I guess Id eat shit too.

Renz, I have never heard of that, does not mean it's not true, just that I have never heard of it. not much help I know, But if you stick with a quality food you should not have any problems. :-)

I feed Solid Gold kibble with home made stew (chick/veggies). I am having an issue with my beautiful GSD - swelling around the joints like gout and am off to the U of M on Wed........but she said it may be the food???????? Thank you for telling me that you have never heard of it - because you people on this board are well versed.
