If someone could refer this suggestion to Oli, that would be great.
The thread about longevity made me think of this. I think it would be a great idea to have both the dog's date of birth AND date of death on the pedigree. It would just mean adding another box for the death date (if known) when entering the birth date on the pedigree, so it should be quite an easy change!

That would definitely help a lot!

It's been there for years...no one ever uses it.
Ok, I just looked and can't find it now. I distinctly recall seeing a dog's ped with date of death listed...was it an older version maybe or maybe the owner put it in separately and made it appear to be one of the drop down options???

Can you not use the "Extra Information" drop-down ? Last two boxes/
lines on that are for last current location, and 'extra' extras, so we ought
to be able to write in date of death there.

I have tried over and over but Oli doesn't think it would get used or something. Your collective voices may help him to do it.
Hundmutter I believe an actual field would be the best. Reason is one day there may be an advanced search and each field should be searchable on its own.
I also have been pushing for the DNA testing area to be updated to show all the DNA tests for each breed.

Another thought I just had was maybe if Oli could put a link to the German Shepherd Dog Breed Betterment Registry site and encourgae people to also add their dogs there. There is alot of information that can be put there, if people want to take the time to add it. I, for one use both this site and the GSDBBR site for many things. I think they go hand in hand. Just a thought.

Adding the DOD to the pedigree is a great idea...I've been adding it to the comments sections to dogs that I know have passed away.
I'm all for adding a section for DNA testing...the more info the better IMO.
