I know that there are no guarantees on any dogs’ long term health, but I am thinking of adopting a dog that has had a fractured pelvis, which has left her pelvis not aligned correctly and when she runs she has a funny gait. Does this increase the likelihood of problems later? It will be a companion dog/family dog. Opinions welcome

I don't think so.

Any injury to the joints increases the likelihood of arthritis in later life. My old horseback riding and dog-related injuries allow me to speak from experience on this. I've also known several dogs that were in serious accidents, and developed arthritis in the affected joints later in life.
Will these problems be serious? It's very hard to predict. I guess a lot would depend on how out of alignment the pelvis is, and how much stress this puts on the joints of the legs and hips. Also important would be if the joints were damaged at the time of the initial injury, and how bad this damage is.

It wouldn't stop me from taking a dog intended as a house pet.

I'd want to see what a hip/pelvis xray looks like, just for informational purposes, but then I'd put her on a good diet and joint supplement to stave off arthritis and call it a day. Enjoy your dog.

Agree with the above. I definitely would not let it put me off a dog that was purely for a companion. In fact it would encourage me because I would be worried that it may be making people pass her up for a home.. How old is she?
I would keep her lean, fit and on a good joint supplement and enjoy her.
