This is a very nice looking boy. He is a male version of my female.
Do you have an English Version of his breed survey?
What's his temperment like? He looks middle-sized to middle large?

He's related to our Ccatti. :) Jolly is her grandsire on the mothers side. Nice looking guy you have there Shelley.
Another dark sable V rated is V Branko vom Salztalblick

I wouldn't say he has "showline conformation" - thank goodness! But he is V rated black sable working line - V-Eagle v Eichenluft Schh3,FH,IPO3,KKl-1,OFA Good - 25X Schh3, National and World-Team level. He has correct "workingline conformation" and better than most.

Molly, is Eagles sire, Alk von Osterburg Quell, a 'red sable? or..? What would his coloration be considered?
by eichenluft on 28 December 2006 - 18:12
Alk was dark or black sable with red markings - however he did not carry the black recessive. I'm sure there are more than a few opinions on what color he really was. I think in his Koering he is "dunkel grau" which is dark grey. Of course in SV conformation there is no such thing as "red sable" or even 'black and red'. But IMO Alk was black sable - his body color could not have been darker than it was - with red "patterned" markings. In other words even though he is sable, he has markings in the pattern of black/tan (maybe because he carried black/tan recessive instead of black), more distinct markings than most sables, who are normally all-over grey with black coverage.
