Help Needed-Lost Dog! - Page 1

My daughters new rescue Sky bolted away just before sunset tonight, trailing a bright blue leash. If anyone in the Effort Mountain, Albrightville, Sun Valley area finds a medium sized, very sweet natured, very shy female GSD, she is loved and sorely missed by her family. We've been searching since about 7:00pm, but the area is densely wooded, & there's not even a moon tonight. Please send prayers & positive energy this way. She's so new to Jens family & house, I don't know if she considers that home yet. Call 570-730-3128 with any information or sightings. Thank you!

FOUND!!!

Jackie, so glad you posted Sky's been found.  As if you haven't
had enough to deal with lately.  How did she get back ?  Did she
find her own way home, or did your family catch her, or did some
one else bring her back ?  Would love to know.  Hope she is well.

Yes, it's been a stressful time. Sky broke away from my granddaughter in their rural neighborhood & was last seen traveling east after being spooked by deer. We searched the entire neighborhood, and the area east of there, up to & including the main highway in the area, route 115. At around 10:30pm we we quit for the night, & my daughter began making flyers, & her son began posting on social media, including the local rescue where my granddaughter volunteers. At around 11:00pm, some sweet angel posted that she had picked up Sky 4 miles due WEST of my daughters house, almost at MY doorstep! The local rescue operates with the assistance of a 24 hour vet, who scanned Sky once she was turned in, but  was not able to read her chip. They DID see Jens & Gabes Facebook postings, & posted that they had her, & that she was OK. Jens husband was able to pick her up around midnight, & Sky was home, safe & sound, by 01:00am.
So, I guess social media saved the day! And never assume a dogs going to go in a straight line...Sky has never been to my house, but has ridden in my car. All the times I stopped,  & called her must have drawn her attention, & perhaps she followed my vehicles familiar smell? Hard telling not knowing, but her angels were watching over her last night! And I want to thank them all, from the bottom of my heart!

It makes me wonder what the poor thing has been through in her life. She is the most timid, scared little girl, she is coming around in my daughters house, but it's just heart breaking to observe her, she still slinks around, trying to not be noticed all the time. And yet she is so sweet & so giving of herself once she realizes that you're a friend... But every time you approach you must start all over, like she thinks kindness is too good to be true, or lasting. How sad her life must have been! jackie harris
