Puppy needs to get from West Virginia to Chicago. 8 weeks, GSD. Airlines are a p.i.t.a. in that area and ground transport is looking better and better. What can we expect the price to be and does anyone recommend anyone in particular or know of someone to stay away from? This is one of my "grandpups" so I've offered to help figure out a way to get him to the buyer.

Or is anyone traveling that way and feel like bringing a little one with to get their fuel partially paid for? PM me if so.

Puppy is only 5 weeks old now, so it will be 2-3 weeks before this needs to happen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have had very bad experience
with ground shipping... I do not recommend ...  Airlines are insured and experienced...
I prefer Delta but have used American.... Both are very reliable...
best wishes

A decent ground shipper is experienced and insured, too.

I vowed I would never again use Delta. I will only ship Continental/United, and from WV that is nearly impossible.

Thanks for your input, though.

Anywhere in West Virginia is 8-9 hours for you; I drove 10 to pick up a pup from my area.  W Va is lovely, too!  If the pup is going ground anyway why not get it yourself?

If you read the post, it's NOT MY PUPPY! That's why I'm going to go get it myself.  Tongue Smile

It's approximately 10 hours, 11 with stops, so therefore 22 hours there and back. For a single person with no other dogs, I guess that's feasible. For a mom with 2 kids and a husband who works full time, 22 hours is a bit more than an inconvenience.

I already stated in my first post the issue with airlines.

Soooo....she asked me to help. And I'm trying.
