My GSD is still limping,(front right) he has been to the vet had X-ray,s done on shoulders and elbows, they looked fine couldn't find any thing wrong. I have restricted his free running now on lead for short walks, on walks his gate looks great just when he is in the house and gets up after resting he limps, he does not have pano, I am stumped he is a happy 17 month boy. Meds he is on 35mil of metcam and 4 x VMP tablets.

How long has this been going on?
Is it intermittent or consistent?
Could it be a pulled muscle?
Could it be something related to the paw?

You don't mention tick diseases, always check those, first line of inquiry.

I had a puppy about that age, and we were playing in the living room with a tug, and he got excited and ran around the sofa too fast. One of his nails got stuck in the carpet and pulled it bad, he fell head over heals and extended his forearm and he limped for over six weeks, we thalt he broke something and it was the pressure on his nail pushing up that kept hurting him, check his nails, move each one up and down and side to side, if he pulls his paw away it could be hurting when he puts pressure on it.

Did your vet rule out pano??

There are elbow issues that can't be diagnosed via xray. I'm surprised they haven't done a CT scan yet. That would be my next step if it were my dog.

Thanks for all your replies,
The vet as ruled pano, I have checked his nails does not react to any attention to his paws. But have not check for any tick diseases, it being still in - below zero (Germany).
