How cool is that? Sounds like keepers to me!

by Hundmutter on 11 March 2013 - 03:03
Well they are hardly identical twins, are they ? But congratulations,
you have a 'pigeon pair' ! Hope the litter and mother are all doing
well.

Thank you, had a few hiccups in the beginning, lost a couple but other then that mum and pups are all doing great now!
Think they might have to be a keeper unless some one will take them both together because i don't think i could separate them it would be mean

Cute. What kind of dogs are they?

by dragonfry on 11 March 2013 - 13:03
Fraternal twins is what you have. Identical twins is 1 egg that splits to become two babies. Fratenral twins is two different pups but in the same sac and from two eggs. They looks ot be Red noes pits, but i could be wrong.

by fawndallas on 11 March 2013 - 13:03
I was thinking pits too Dragonfly, but the poster's avitar has long ears. I am not that familiar with the pit breed, so it is possible their ears have to be clipped to stand up.

by dragonfry on 11 March 2013 - 13:03
Yes, you have to crop the ears on terrier to get them to stand. They naturally fold or rose over. Only your more "Primative" breeds like spitz, shepherds, pharho hounds, and some of the smaller terriers have natural erect ears.
Most dogs have been bred to downed ears and then have to have them ajusted to make them look like natural eared dogs. Such as dobies, danes, boxers, german pinchers, pit bull terriers and schnauzers of all sizes.

'Fry, everyone seems to be missing the obvious - they
cannot be identical twins, because there IS ONE OF
EACH SEX. ; - )
BTW we don't yet know which country the OP hails from -
could be whatever it is just has natural ears. I'm not placing
any bets on breed; thought from a quick look at the avatar
pic of Bordeax [- ish]; but now I've seen the puppy pix I'm
not at all sure. Red nose Pit as good a possiblity as anything.
