I'm interested in ordering a book titled; "Tracking from the ground up" by Sandy Ganz and Susan Boyd. Anyone familiar with it? I've already read "Training the Search and Disaster Dog" by Shirley Hammond. It was a good book, but I'm not training Luke for such an intensive "career". I'm only wanting to learn to teach him to search for someone lost. We've been working together for a year and a half, (He's almost 2), and its been so thereputic for me, and he's enjoying the work/play time too.
I have read other books as well, and plan to look into Andrew Ramseys DVD, but hey, I love to read! So, any comments would be appreciated.

It's a good book regarding the basics and training for the AKC TD and TDX degrees.

See if you can find "Search Dog Training" by Sandy Bryson.

You might have to look on ebay or Alibris to find it..  She wrote a nice book.. easy to follow, lots of pictures and diagrams.

An important point on tracking books, dvd's etc. is that our dogs instinctively know how to track .. the book is to teach us how to track with our dog as a team.
