If I weren't so sick, I'd be doing cartwheels!!
When I bought this run-down old kennel, the owner had let the license lapse as he didn't want to have to deal with all the B.S. of conforming to the rules and regulations.
Well, late last year, the township caught up with me, and said I was going to have to be licensed. Of course, that meant being inspected.
I've been having a fit over this, afraid they'd be REALLY sticky, and fault me on the drainage system (non-existent right now, with everything locked in ice and snow) my record keeping...heck, ALL SORTS of worst-case scenarios ran through my head.
To top it off, I got really, really sick, and had a very hard time finding the energy to prepare. Some of the stuff I would have liked to do just didn't get done (like painting the wooden door frames the dogs had chewed.)
Anyway, all my worries were for nothing. The inspectors, two women were nice as can be, and although they had some concerns, otherwise gave the kennel a clean bill of health!
We spent a good 20 minutes talking dogs once the inspection was done. Both ladies are familiar with GSDs, and one has even done some schutzhund!
I'd go have a beer or two to celebrate, but this medication I'm on is not compatible with alcohol (metronidazole)!

Congratulations! I'm sure it is hard work getting ready for that and a big relief that you passed.
