Any one having problems with this food? I have changed my dogs food to this, every loved it, everyone was doing well; opened a new bag of food...every freakin' dog now has diarrhea!!!
Anyone else with issues?  I'm paranoid
because I think it's made in a Diamond processing plant, can anyone confirm or disprove this?
I did check dogwood analysis.com before we started with this...
Thanks!!

I hope there isn't anything wrong with it I just ordered a small bag to try!  I don't know what plant it is made in but it had very good reviews.

They recently re-vamped the line.. and changed the bags/look/name.

I have a few small bags of the old formula, and it smells great, and Dante loves to snack on it...

It appears to be made in Texas, at their *own* plant..

I would defineitely suspect the food.. since ALL of your dogs are sick on it..  get another bag from a different BATCH and see if you have improvement..

Contact the manufacture directly.. they may want to get the bag/food back.. Ask about getting some extra food back for compensation..

Kibbles have the nasty habit of getting rancid.. without lots of preservatives..  there is no good way around this, outside of freezing the stuff.
It's the price we pay for convenience.

Try adding cottage cheese to your daily regiment.. it might help the dogs' gut recover a bit.

It is not made by Diamond. Made in the USA by Merrick at their own plant. Maybe you are feeding too much? Did you start gradually mixing it with the old food?

Thanks for the responses, I think we are done with Merrick. Too bad, they absolutely went bonkers for the stuff. Currently they're all on rice & boiled chicken. Back to Evo, I guess. Good to know Merrick has their own plant; & this bag smelled OK...? I'll try the cottage cheese. I was trying to leave the Evo/Innova foods, as they are now owned by Iams, & have been reformulated with a steep price increase, but apparently my dogs have other ideas!Sad Smilejackie harris

We started introducing the Merrick about 8 weeks ago, a little bit at a time....& I mix with a lower protein food to keep it balanced; I am fairly cautious about kibble, but I wondered if I had missed something with this. If I hadn't thought Merrick was top-notch, we wouldn't have tried it!  But the proof is in the poop! jackie harris

Jackie,

If your dogs will eat granular food, try a small box of Abady.

Switch slowly, add meat (frozen, fresh, raw grind, canned) and hot water.

I used to use  Evo with some of the dogs until it got bought by Carnation..

Some of the other less expensive supplemental feeds I have used recently are:

Evangers (makes a smallish kibble, chicken and also whitefish/sweet potato)

Hi-Tek (makes a few different formulations, flavors, although I am not crazy about the milo)

Honst Kitchen is a great supplemental food..  Thrive is the only one that doesnt have flax.
Ziwi Peak is another great one, but not cheap. Its as good as Abady.

After EVO, we searched for a food with limited "questionable" ingredients, and came across "The Great Life" at a trade show..
Initially, I was very happy with all of the formulas, but fairly recently, they also had a "manufacture" issue.. and the food went rancid.. causing the dogs eating it to get sick. (runs)

I am told they corrected the issue, but I still continue to have problems.

You might try a small bag, from a FRESH batch, as it previously was a great alternative to EVO.

To your chicken and white rice, add cottage cheese, cooked hard boiled eggs, and after they are doing better, organ meats (I braise them in butter lightly, liver, gizzards and the like).

"Diggin your dog Firm Up" makes a nice pumpkin flake that can be added to any ration..  its clean and works well.

Hope this helps..

Thanks! That sounds like a recipe for success! Seriously, tho' thanks for the ideas, we're about at our wits ends, our dogs used to look gorgeous, not so much any more, & I miss those small tight stools! Thanks again! jackie harris
