The show, "Alpha Dog" has been on Nat Geo for a few weeks now. And I was wondering what people's thoughts were about the show. I'm on the fence. I'd like to see more dog and less family stuff. I was hoping it would be more like the show, "Dog Town" and less like "American Chopper". And by more like "Dog Town", I mean with a little more seriousness and a little more narrative. Focus on the dogs as opposed to the people.

As time goes on I think it is getting better and better. Must be hard to film and be on stage while you work?? And make it look real after the fact. JMO. Great days, Nan

I watched the first time yesterday. I was not impressed. If any one watching is trying to actually get some insight as to what goes into training, I guess bomb dogs (it was so focused on arguing and dysfunctional work place, who knows what the training goals were), they are surely to come away thinking the dogs are the least important element in the team.

I agree. Disappointing! The show is more about tattooed old men then about dogs. Could have been so interesting. But I guess the way of training these dogs is not meant for the public eye.

I've seen the show a few times and always think it's interesting to see new dogs and what they think of them...Like the show where they were flunking out a few dozen dogs for one reason or another...then...They re-tested the dogs and...BOOM...Many of them were good for work...
I always enjoy seeing how others train dogs...But in the end Controversy always sells...So I'm curious in how they're going to keep it going...

I agree, not impressed. It's entertaining to watch, though.

I think it looks impressive to those that are not familar with LE dogs, but truthfully I find it lacking. Much more real was the piece on "Sixty minutes" tonight. IMO
