Hello
After working my lovely German Shepherd at the World Trade Center on 9-11-01 she became very ill. Anna ultimately gave hr life so others would be able to find closure with remains from their loved ones.
After loosing my gal, 700 elementary school children held a walk-a-thon to raise funds for my current search dog, Tango v. Kleyn Hammer (in data base)
Due to their generosity I founded THE SEARCH AND RESCUE DOG FOUNDATION" The goal is to offer grants to SAR handlers who need a replacement k9 due to illness, age, disability or death of their k9.
As many are not aware, SAR is an all volunteer endevor, requiring many hours and sacrifices of time and money.
This foundation is a registered 501-C3 (non-profit) in the state of New Jersey. I am asking for help with donations. I am more than willing to forward a copy of our certificate of non-profit ststus.
We all know people who have Alzheimers, or children who have gone missing. These dogs are our fist line of assistance.
If you wish to contribute please email me directly at Satlas5471@aol.com for more information.
thank you for any assistance you can provide.

I sent you an email.
I would also like to thank you and Anna for your hard work and sacrifice. For her to give her life to try and save others is what a hero is made of. May you and Tango have a long productive career.

I just donated a seven week old german shepherd puppy to our county SAR program. This is the third pup I've donated over the past year. The second pup went to a sixteen year old boy as our county is trying to start a Junior program. Keep up the good work and thank you for your dedication. Health reasons do not permit me to seriously pursue SAR myself even though I would love to do so. Instead, I allow the local SAR to come to my home to train thru our property and donate a pup when we have one that shows signs of being an excellent prospect. I admire the unique bond that forms between trainer and dog and love to see my pups grow into happy, confident dogs that love doing the work. I for one am very proud to know that there are dedicated people such as yourself out there to help us in our time of need.

Forget the Schutzhund nonsence, this was a true "working" dog. The kind Max Stephanitz bred, to make a difference in our human world. She is worth more than 100 Sch 3 dogs in my eyes. SAR, assistance dogs, personal protection, this is what these dogs are all about as well as family companions and best friends.

First, I would like to thank all those who responded.
Secondly, I would like to respond to a query. Even though Vet reports indicated no dogs suffered long term effects after working at the WTC (and my dog was part of the study,) I feel differently. I started the foundation because of all the assistance I received. To any SAR person questioning my statement about her dying due to her deployment..Please lets not get into a pissing match. I paid all legal fees, filing fees and accountant fees out of my own pocket to do this.
Everyone requesting a copy of the mission statement and certificate of non-profit status will be forward one via email . I am going to Kinko's tomorrow to have a disc made.
Again, thank you to all who responded. If anyone knows a grant writter who would be willing to work with us please forward my email
Thank you and Happy Holidays to all
