This this is Shuggy our beautiful brindle lab mix. Her mother is a red Australian Shepard and dad a black lab mix. I hope this helps anyone a little bit if they are trying to figure out what their brindle lab mix might be. I couldn't get the picture to work on my IPad so she may look squished. She is an average lab size and 12 years old.

Shuggy has many talents, too! He sticks to walls! Please give Shuggy a huggy!

LOL
Thanks for the smile!

Wow, how did a brindle come from two breeds that don't have that color? I've seen a pitbull lab mix that looked this though.

I think her mommy had relations with more then one male. Because clearly she is not just lab and aussie. Maybe daddy was a lab pit mix? Same what they got brindle ducth shepherds. They crossed dutch herders with pit bull terrier and got amazing working dog with herder mentaility and terrier drive. And seems that brindle color is fairly dominant.
Whiile there are a lot of breeds that offer brindle. Hounds, pit bulls, greyhound, you never see this is Aussies and never in pure bred labs.
Cool looking old girl, seems you's loved her for a long time. :D
