There is a dry dog food I have a special interest in named OMEGA TASTY, as I understand it is made by Nestle-Purina, most probably Purina-UK or Purina Ireland. When I visit the website of Purina International, Purina Italy or Purina UK (for UK and Ireland) there is no mention of this food brand. I tried several times to contact Purina by e mail, they do not reply back, I called several times, they listen and promise to call back but they don't. Still I am interested to know more about this type of dog food if anyone uses it for his/her dogs and I am interested to know who actually produces it and the possibility of importing it to Jordan (MIddle East), maybe some one can call them in UK on my behalf and find out for me what the story is about this food. Any piece of info, any kind of help shall be highly appreciated.
I know it is not a top quality dry dog food, but I've seen 2 puppies and 1 adult German Shepherds who feed on it, owner brings it from Kuwait, and I like a lot what those Shepherds look like and the end-user-price is incredible, 15 kg at around $ 40, the Kuwaiti importer most probably is buying it from big Malls in UK and then ships to Kuwait.

Hi Ibrahim
Well you have identified that this is a lower grade food as kibble goes, as reflected by the price. It's been around for as long as I can remember! Like many foods, if you have a dog that is naturally a 'good doer' they will probably do fine on it. I am no kibble expert being a raw feeder, but remember this brand from years ago. It is odd that it isnt listed on Purina's site as it is made by Purina, its almost like they dont want to 'own' it. I see that Amazon sell it, do you have that facility in Jordan?
What questions do you specifically want to ask Purina about it? I will see if I can find out for you if you want to pursue it knowing it is a lower grade food. In terms of importi g it, is it worth asking the perzon you met sho feeds it about getting it from  Kuwait?

Hi Ibrahim

I can remember this one being around since the year dot too, I did use a donated bag for my rescue dogs once and it make their motions look pinky.  It is available from my wholesaler, I don't know if the link will help you find out any more.

Last part of your post I did not follow. Thanks for your reply. I understand it is not the top quality dry dog food one should feed his dog when one can afford a better food.

Please note that when it comes to dogs and pets in my country we are steps behind Europe, we are still convincing people to feed their dogs complete formula not left overs, some people feed the best what ever the cost is, some feed decent kibble at medium price, some feed commercial and some feed whatever is left.

For the segment that feed commercial I am certain OMEGA TASTY will be a GOD gift for those dogs. (don't think as a UK dog owner), lol.

Anyway, I want to import this brand into Jordan direct from manufacturer, who should I talk to plus contact info. Thank you Abby

Hi Ibrahim

I can't say it actually caused problems, but I dislike dog foods with dye in them and this one defintiely has enough to show colour in the dogs motions.   We have a large range of cheap to medium price kibbles in UK, you might like to have a look at the wholesalers site and see what else is available, you might see something you like the look of from a more helpful and  forthcoming manufacturer.  Red Mills Greyhound food is very popular with GSD show folk over here at the moment and that is not only a reasonable price, but carries no VAT as it is a working dog food, it is made in Ireland.

Ibrahim, just so I understand what to ask, do you want to import it in bulk to re-sell? Like becoming a distributor in Jordan?

Yes Abby that is correct

Thank you Ambi GSD
