Well is it over?
Oh well, you'll have to ask your local WDA member for more information on this one......

Here are some stats: Check this out! I counted 18 WDA events scheduled for this year nation wide (14 of which are IPO trials). The S.E. Region of UScA has 17 events scheduled from Feb-Dec (Not counting Jan.) for the S.E. Region of UScA (15 of which are IPO trials).
What GSDCA-WDA should do first is police there own organization of which they have 54 clubs and dropping, they should take a look at why clubs are wanting to leave. The number one reason I encounter around the country (when I was a GSDCA-WDA member) was availability of trials. But instead they are spending a lot of time trying to get other organizations to do what they are failing to do for their own members.
If GSDCA-WDA make it mandatory that there member clubs have trials and not just be "Paper Clubs" It would help there cause greatly. Not everyone would benefit places like South Dekota and other remote places would have to use the WUSV mandate to title their dogs, but for GSDCA-WDA, 54 trials a year is a "HELL OF A START"

Wallace - I agree.......every club should have one trial or show a year......this would help out greatly..
Our club is holding their affiliation show tomorrow.......and regional conformaiton, breed survey show asap after......(mid April), then we plan on having a tiral in the fall.
Another club is starting up in Houston and is also planning their affiliation trial in April..........
Our 2 clubs are even talking about getting together and holding a regional trial and show next year......with german judges for breed surveys/.
I don't know about other places...but Houston is a hotbed of activity.........

SitasMom,
Your club will be an asset to GSDCA-WDA. The problem is, UScA already let GSDCA- WDA members enter their shows. The problem GSDCA- WDA members are having is being able to title their dogs and that is what GSDCA- WDA is wanting UScA to provide for them. So, being able to host a show instead of doing trial will put GSDCA-WDA in the same dilemma NO TRIALS. Last year GSDCA-WDA had 60 clubs (They now have 54 clubs, 55 when you become a club) they had 39 trials (Not counting the Nationals) of those 39 trials one club hosted 3 trials and 3 more clubs hosted 2 trials. If GSDCA-WDA make it mandatory to host a trial every year, with the clubs that like to host multiple trials GSDCA-WDA may possibly have 60 or 70 trials a year. I know for a fact that now that our clubs has gone back to UScA, Georgia will only have one club that will actively host a trial every year and Georgia have 3 clubs and of the 3 clubs, 2 are paper clubs. One hasn't hosted a trial in years and the other don't even have a place to train or equipment to train with or even get together to train. GSDCA-WDA is full of clubs like the last two I just mention. What good is a club if they offer nothing to it's organization out side of numbers?
But, when you take a real close look at it, if UScA have to accept the GSDCA-WDA score book (And they might have to?) the GSDCA-WDA administration (By pushing the issue) will have made UScA make GSDCA-WDA stronger by adding an additional 200-300 more trials a year (Courtesy of UScA's hard work and sweat!!) to the GSDCA-WDA calendar........I guess the GSDCA-WDA administration is proud of it's self?

As it stands right now, USCA charges an extra $15 for non-USCA members that are AWDF members to enter their trials. If GSDCA-WDA forces USCA to accept entries from WDA members don't be surprised by an extra $100 fee for non-AWDF members who reside in the country to enter USCA events. So I am not so sure it will make GSDCA-WDA that much stronger.

Hi Everyone,
I don't think the issue is so much WDA members. I say this because GSDCA or DVG membership solves this problem with UScA. The issue is acceptance of the GSDCA-WDA scorebook by UScA.
I also think that if there were more WDA trials that it would not be such a big deal that other organizations don't want to play nice.
This is very frustrating for anyone that wants to title their own dogs.
Best Regards,
Cheryl

What I don't understand is, for all the people that just want to title their dogs, why join an organization that has so few opportunities? I used to be a WDA member and switched within a year when I realized how many clubs were paper clubs and never even trained together let alone held trials and events. I also just want to train and title my dogs so I join whatever club offers those opportunities.

VK is 100% dead on. The only people this whole scorebook crap
has any negative impact on is the people who just want to do
Schutzhund. They don't care about politics or anything else, they
simply want to train and title their dogs. These two National clubs
make it very difficult, even next to impossible to just do Schutzhund.

the usca club in my area laughs out loud at anyone that shows up with a showline dog............that's why just joining the usca is not an option.

All the more reason to go and shut them up! My first SchH trial I was so terrified....my "red dog" got High OB, High SchH1 and was only two points from earning High In Trial (won by my TD/helper and his national level SchH3 dog).
