It has been a year since Maya was diagnosed with EPI. At first we thought we were going to lose her, and it has been a struggle keeping the weight up. It has been a few months now and ( touch wood ) she has been doing just great. I have learned so much about diet and nutrition. I just wanted to share her picture because I am so darn proud of her and how well she is doing. She is the love of our lives.

Congratulations to you Eldee, you should be proud of yourself. It's a frustrating disease I know a few people who have had to battle with it, and it takes such a lot of perseverance and knockbacks before you succeed, if you ever do - I know that some just don't seem to.
Looks like you have found the formula that works for Maya, she looks absolutely beautiful, you have every right to be proud of her.

Thank you. I guess the purpose of my post was not to puff out my feathers, but to let dog owners know that this disease can be controlled and it isn't a death sentence like it used to be. Finding all the right formulas and tricks and patience, in the end, it worked out for Maya. I don't know the future and I don't know if and when she could take a turn for the worse, but we enjoy every day and whenever her time comes, I know that she would have had the best life a dog could ever want.
And thanks everyone on here that helped me at the start with your suggestions and advice. It was here I learned about the epi4dogs website and the group of dedicated epi dog owners at k9 epiglobal that have guided me through every step. I could not have done it alone.
Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

So happy for you and Maya. The above sites were instrumental in saving my dog's life alomst 10 years ago as well. The yahoogroup is phenominal. I am happy to report my girl is now 10 1/2 and looks like she is much younger. Although she has other health problems not related to her EPI. Her EPI has been stablized for about 8 years! EPI can be controlled just takes patience to figure out the right formula. Best of luck with your giel she is a beauty. Lyn
