is thats the price they are asking? up to 3,000?...King Shephard? is that a new size like in starbucks - venti, grande?

LadyFrost - yeah "King" Shepherds are another variant, like Shilohs,
based on the GSD, created by people who like to be different and/or
think they can sell well to that section of the market that demands a
bigger dog. I think I read once they crossed in some Newfie blood
to get the Kings, dunno if thats true. Either way, folks who do this do
not seem very concerned about the joint and heart stress caused to
ever-larger dogs ... Think its you Yanks who are responsible for King
Shepherds, they started on the US side of the Pond a few years back,
as far as I can work out.
On the OP's topic, wow I looked at the website, and while it all seems
very clean etc in the publicity material, (!), I will say I don't think ANY of
those GSD puppies pictured look very special [even the ones that aren't
ridiculous colours]; and for a site which talks so very much about ethics
and producing healthy stock, they are remarkably non-specific
when it comes to any mention of hip Xrays / OFA / and so on. Looks
like just another volume breeder and Dealer to me. Don't think I would
either buy from them, OR want to sign up as one of their 'leading breeders' ...

The Kings were originally Shilohs that were bred outside of the Shiloh breed founder's strict standards. Tina Barber took the lady (Shelly Watts) to court, and won. Shelly then had to come up with a new name for her dogs, and called them King Shepherds. i don't follow the breed, but, yes, they have mixed in some other large breeds beyond the giant malemute that is in the original shiloh lines. I know for sure they used some Sarplaninec (a large flock guardian breed) but I'm not sure what else.
Beware of people who try to sell oversized GSDs as "King shepherds". That's not what a King shepherd is at all!
Edit: when I followed the link, I saw no mention of king shepherds. Where did that come from?
(They sure spin a good line, don't they??))

I clicked on one of the pups and in description it said King (it was one of 2,900+ dollar pups thats why i commented on the price and size), I don't remember which one it was, i opened about 10 of them just to read info...let me see if I can find it again....
15 min. later....
hmmm...i cant find it...i spend 15 min looking through the ones i thought i opened but i don't see it.....I don't know how often they update their site but it seems like there are less white ones on it and page 5 now only has 2 puppies....Anyways...can't find it...

Ugh!
" I have west German bloodlines, and police training and Schutzhund titles on my mommy's side. I'm already obeying several commands. My pedigree consists of top dogs that have sure and confident temperaments, willingness to work, and natural protective instincts, offering superior trainability along with a true love to perform."
Kings and Shilohs are not the dogs you'd choose to do schutzhund with, so it really bugs me that they'd emphasize the West German bloodlines. Means mom's a mix, and this dog is techically a MUTT! But a mutt supposedly worth $2,900.....
Typical puppymill B.S.!

If the mother is AKC, I don't know how she can be a king shepherd.
Really how can any of the pups be AKC.
I know people complain about AKC, but they DO adhere to standards.
