I was looking up a pedigree for a puppy I am getting ready to buy in early spring. I came acroos two dogs in the pedigree that I find very interesting http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/6120.html http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/14716.html Comments

They both look like the working and show types had not yet seperated. Amazing how far apart the types have gotten. I happen to like the working lines and my dogs are too pretty.

This is another one I found that looked very interesting too. He's in the historical VA list. This is a show dog I could relate too. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/2127.html

I find it odd that so many people are agaisnt todays working dogs but yet if you look at these pictures they are pretty close to being the same.MPO

It's hard to believe we've gotten so far away from this body type.

I read the thread about working vs show When I came aross these dog it dawned on me there was a time that the shepherds could work (back then SchH was not a sport) and could place in the show ring. We the people let money ruin this beautiful breed.

I'm not against working dogs, I'm not against Showline dogs, I like a combination of both lines balanced. Why is that such a bad thing ??? and quite frankly I think alot of dogs still have that body type, well ones I see anyway.

Echo there is nothing wrong with that! as seen in the pictures these dogs could do both and did very well at both! but now days you post a czech or DDR dog on this forum or any other and people say "working dog" not to breed standard. How is that? you say you see dogs like that all the time ask your self this are they from "show or "working" I bet working. I am reading the standard set fourth on this web site. again interesting when you put that standard or other standards up agaisnt pictures of dogs posted on this site. let it be working or show

Looks like the body style "like we are talking cars" changed about 68-70. This Volker looks somehwhat like how I hope my pup will turn out, pups sire... http://www.orkies.com/?q=node/36 http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/2127.html I opened up 2 windows side by side to look. I like this body type very much.

Well Yes I think they are working lines or moreso than showlines anyway, But spook thinks I am dumb and have it all wrong and that my dogs are "show" dogs. which is not what I thought, and not what my training directors think eighther, they are more "styled" to the workingline. Yes some V, VA, Champions, and KKL in the pedigrees but what dogs don't have those ??? Honestly at this point I don't care what the hell they're lines are, They have super temperaments, great drive, Very Confident, have excellent health, and sound structure. Everything I could ever want in a GSD !!! so really I don't even care anymore what "lines" they are I know I will be looking for they're "type" for future breedings, and plan to develop my line of dogs for me. I guess as a breeder that's what we do, We do our best to continue to breed sound dogs !! Be them working or show, LINES.
