North Shore Search and Rescue save dog

The Bernese Mountain dog, 'Ohly', had been stranded on Mount Seymour for 12 days. The animal is in safe hands, and will now be check out by veterinarians.

The dog has been rescued from Suicide Gully by North Shore Search and Rescue.

Tim Jones with North Shore Rescue says the group is footing the bill.

"I want to emphasize that North Shore Rescue is paying the bill for this rescue, for the helicopter. We have the support of Metro, but we are paying for the cost of the helicopter."

He says the dog seems to be in good condition.

Veterinary technicians will now be looking after the dog to check to see what kind of injuries the dog suffered while on the mountain.
